Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC):

About IQAC:

The National Assessment and Accreditation (NAAC), Bangalore proposes for every accredited institution to have an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) to periodically assess and suggest measures to upgrade the quality in the overall performance of an academic institution. With this objective in view, the Government Degree College, Longtharai Valley (situated in the Dhalai District of Tripura) has formed an IQAC to ensure continuous quality enhancement and sustenance in its academic as well as administrative activities. As development of quality is a continuous process, the IQAC would play a vital role in post accreditation phase of the college as its committed to achieve academic excellence.

            The Government Degree College, Longtharai Valley has established Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) on 18th December, 2018. As the college was established in the year 2012, for the first time it is preparing itself for NAAC Accreditation. Therefore, it would certainly play a decisive role in the post accreditation quality sustenance efforts.

            The Cell comprises of Committees as per the guidelines of NAAC to access, monitor and advice on different quality aspects of the overall functioning of the college.

Advisory Committee:

            To meet at regular intervals, critically assess the academic performance and provide input so as to improve upon the academic and administrative quality of the institution, an Advisory Committee was formed. The following are members of the present Advisory Committee:

Quality Objective:

  1. To evolve a quality assurance mechanism for the conscious, consistent and catalytic improvement of academic and administrative performance of the college.
  2. To adopt best practices and quality culture in order to build a healthy academic ambience.
  3. To disseminate information relating to various parameters for improving institutional performance.
  4. To provide a sound basis for decision making to improve institutional functioning.

Quality Policy:

  1. To develop quality parameters for various academic and administrative activities of the college and evolve means to achieve them.
  2. To facilitate the creation of a learner centric environment conducive to quality education.
  3. To encourage faculty training for enhancing their knowledge and teaching skill for effective teaching.
  4. To gather feedback response from students, parents and other stakeholders in order to take remedial measures to maintain quality.
  5. To organise inter and intra institutional processes like seminars, symposiums, workshops on awareness among stakeholders.
  6. To documents various activities of the college.
  7. To prepare Self Study Report (SSR) of the college based on quality parameters/assessment criteria developed by the NAAC.
  8. To propose parameters and suggests means of achieving those for the overall quality development of the college.
  9. To involve any other activities as advised by the Principal and authorities of Higher Education.

Student Chapter:

The Government Degree College, Longtharai Valley is committed to provide qualitative, diversified and socially relevant education to all its students with their varied talents and capabilities. It helps the students who come into the ambit of the college environment, to realise their potential by catering to their needs and rendering all necessary supports. The college always starves to improve and sustain the quality of the academic programmes as well as the core students’ activities. The college endeavour to provide equal opportunities to each and every student without any discrimination. The prime goal of the college is to see that every student has equal access to competent and qualitative teaching which deals to vibrant academic, social and personal growth on and of the campus. Thus, the college seeks the cooperation of the student community to maintain a conducive academic environment and to enrich the college community life.

  1. The college (Affiliated to Tripura Central University) shall submit the SSR to the NAAC.
